Youth Academy Graduates In First Team Squad

As another season draws to a close over the next few days we have been able to celebrate success across all our teams and are proud that many have gone on to crown that success off with silverware. But without doubt it’s the continued player development that we are most proud of as a club.

Today we are delighted to see another two Youth Academy Graduates progress into the Ballymena United First Team squad for this evenings match against Dungannon Swifts.

17 year old Lewis Tennant first joined our Mini Soccer School at the age of four and has represented the Youth Academy and Ballymena United at every age group in his journey to the first team.

20 year old Nathan Clarke joined our Under 14 squad in 2016 before progressing through the age groups at the senior club to represent the first team today.

Along with Jordan McMullan, Caolan Loughran and Chris Rodgers that makes FIVE Youth Academy Graduates in today’s squad, with Club Captain Leroy Millar, rested ahead of next week’s Irish Cup Final, making it SIX graduates to represent the First Team this season.

We are very proud of all players who have represented either Ballymena United Youth Academy or Cullybackey Blues. The Hall of Fame on our website aims to celebrate and highlight the achievements of some of our ‘Wee Sky Blues’ who went on to represent Ballymena United and other teams in the top division of the Irish League or to pursue full time careers in football.

We are proud to be able to add Lewis and Nathan the Hall of Fame today!!
